Star City, situated 25 km north-east of Moscow, is a small settlement where cosmonauts, scientists and their families live near Cosmonaut Training Center Gagarin. Since 1960s Russian cosmonauts were trained here.
The location of Star City was kept in secret before 1990s, it was not indicated on maps, signs and bus itineraries. There are still several restrictions, but Star City is now open for tourists.
During the tour to Star City you will know its history, the history of Cosmonaut Training Center Gagarin, which you will visit later along with its museum. You will see unique objects where cosmonauts train: centrifuge CF-18 (that is used for the modeling of overcharge during all steps of a space flight), and weightlessness simulation tank. You will also see full-size analogue of the orbital station "Mir", know of everyday life of people on the near-earth orbit.
